Hernanes juventusJuventus midfielder Hernanes believes that he has become accustomed to his new role with the Bianconeri and looks forward to conquering new challenges.

The Brazilian has struggled for playing time ever since his summer switch from Inter, though now feels that he has adapted to life in Turin.

“When I came to Juve, I thought I’d play as a forward, and hoped to score many goals,” the 30-year-old told JTV.

“But coach Massimiliano Allegri changed my position, he plays me as a deep midfielder.

“Obviously I’ve had to adjust, but I’m starting to feel more at ease in my new role, of course I think I can still improve.”

With Juventus currently just one point clear of second place Napoli, the midfielder warned his team-mates to keep a clear head during the remaining fixtures.

“At the moment the fight for the league is between Napoli and us,” he continued.

“However, there are still 12 games to go, and another side could re-enter the race for the title, much like we did in the first half of the season.

“It’s an exciting league because so many teams play such good football.

“There are still several months left and we must remain focused on our goals.

Concluding, Hernanes also shared his belief that Juventus can still qualify for the next round of the Champions League following their 2-2 draw to Bayern Munich in the first leg.

“The return leg will be tough and we will need to produce a fantastic performance to reach the quarter-finals,” he said.

“Everyone has now seen how we can play and will expect to see the Juve of the second half in our last game.

“We just have to believe in ourselves as we have done so consistently since October.”
