Tottenham Hotspur forward Erik Lamela believes his side’s upcoming Europa League opponents Fiorentina pose a real threat, though is confident they have what it takes to progress into the later stages of the competition.
A 1-1 draw in Florence gives the Lillywhites an away goal advantage going into the second leg, a match which Lamela maintains his team will give their all in, as opposed to sitting back.
“The first leg was a difficult match,” the Argentine told the press, in his pre-match press conference.
“We scored a crucial goal but then they equalized. Despite this, the draw was important.
“Fiorentina play great football and I believe that tomorrow will be very difficult, though we will give our best and try to win.
“I think that the match will be similar to that of last year. It will be different to the games we play in the league.”
