Napoli v LazioLazio will host Serie A leaders Napoli on Wednesday night at the Stadio Olimpico and try to get revenge for their 5-0 loss earlier this season.

Maurizio Sarri’s team hadn’t won a match in the league until they dismantled Stefano Pioli’s side at the Stadio San Paolo in Week 4. Gonzalo Higuain got a brace while Lorenzo Insigne, Allan and Manolo Gabbiadini added to the large scoreline.

The Biancocelesti are currently sharing eighth place in Serie A with Empoli with 32 points after 22 games. Pioli’s team drew 0-0 away to Udinese on the weekend and they have not lost in seven Serie A games.

The Partenopei are two points clear of Juventus at the top on the table with 50 points and they have won six consecutive league matches. On Sunday they maintained their great form by thrashing Sarri’s former club Empoli 5-1.

Lazio have been struggling to find a regular goalscorer this season. Right-winger Antonio Candreva has scored six goals in 18 league matches this season and two of them were in the 4-1 victory against Chievo almost a fortnight ago. Napoli have been able to count on Higuain, who has scored 22 goals in as many games, and Insigne with 10 goals as well as nine assists.

Pioli will be missing Danilo Cataldi, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Alessandro Matri due to suspension and the Lazio tactician has a few injuries to deal with too. Lucas Biglia is out with an ankle injury, Edson Braafheid has a thigh problem, Stefan Radu has a hamstring injury and Ricardo Kishna and Stefan De Vrij have knee injuries.

Sarri could be missing Higuain with a shoulder injury after he collided with Empoli goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski on the weekend while Elseid Hysaj and Allan are suspended after receiving yellow cards against the Tuscan side.
