lazio veronaLazio midfielder Stefano Mauri says he is pleased with his side’s victory over Hellas Verona at the Stadio Olimpico.

The 36-year-old netted the Aquile’s second in their 5-2 win as Stefano Pioli’s side halted their three game goalless stretch.

“It’s always a great feeling to score, but the more important thing is that the team is back playing at a certain level,” the midfielder told Premium Sport after the game.

“We should have kept a clean sheet but overall it was a good performance and we hope to continue in this manner.

The Curva Nord was undergoing the first of its two game ban after the Lazio fans were found guilty of racially abusing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

“We missed them,” added Mauri.

“We know we are a good team and we are playing below our potential, but today we hope to have switched gears.”
