Mihajlovic: AC Milan deserved victory over Torino

ac milanAC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic said Milan deserved the win following his sides’ 1-0 victory over Torino.

Luca Antonelli scored the only goal of the game with a smart effort just before half-time.

“We knew it would be a different game,” Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“Torino played a good game but we deserved the win. We fought until the end.

“It shows our improvement as at the start of the season we had just ten points, this time around we have 18 in the reverse fixtures.”

Prior to kick-off the Milanisti unveiled a banner of support, contrasting in how Mihajlovic and co. were received before Christmas.

“I would like the thank the fans for their kind words,” stated Mihajlovic. “I saw banners today for us and for the team.

“I have always known this would occur, I knew the hard work would pay off.

“The boys deserve this though, so let’s continue like this until the end of the season.

The match also proved a testing ground for Juraj Kucka and Andrea Bertolacci, who have come under recent criticism.

“Kucka and Bertolacci have been criticised a lot,” Mihajlovic added “They are both crucial to us.”

The result AC Milan in sixth place and very much in the hunt for European football.
