Roma midfielder William Vainqueur has urged his side to maintain their current Serie A winning streak after they suffered a morale-sapping 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League in midweek.

The Giallorossi welcome Palermo to the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening as they aim to extend their four-match domestic winning run and the Frenchman is conscious of the threat the Sicilians will pose.

“Now immediately comes the game against the Rosanero, we must turn the page and focus on continuing the winning streak in the league,” the midfielder told Sky Sport Italia.

“Palermo will be motivated as they have changed their coach,┬ábut our goal will be to stop their positive momentum.”

Luciano Spalletti’s outfit currently sit two points adrift of the Champions League places and face a season-defining clash with Fiorentina in Rome on March 4.
