Juventus defeated Inter 2-0 at the Juventus Stadium in the Derby d’Italia on Sunday night.

The hosts stayed top of Serie A after Leonardo Bonucci pounced on an error to comfortably volley home, before Alvaro Morata sealed the win from the spot in the 84th minute.

Starting Line Ups

Juventus lined up in a very familiar 3-5-2, with their wing backs getting forward to provide the width. Stephan Lichtsteiner in particular was very high up on the right. Hernanes was the midfielder tasked with coming deep to distribute the ball forward. Mario Mandzukic played the target man upfront, leaving Paulo Dybala to drift in from a slightly right-sided position.

Inter unusually also set up with a 3-5-2 formation. This left the creative responsibility very much the hands of Felipe Melo and Geoffrey Kondogbia, whilst Danilo D’Ambrosio pushed forward from right wing back position to help aid the attack.
