ac milan lazioAC Milan drew with Lazio 1-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday evening in Serie A, meaning the Rossoneri haven’t won in three games.

Marco Parolo gave the Biancocelesti the perfect start early on with a well-directed header but Carlos Bacca levelled the scores with a fine effort not long after. Senad Lulic was sent off late on after hauling down Keisuke Honda.

Both sides made a promising start but it was the visitors who took the game by the scruff of its neck by breaking the deadlock.

It came from a simple corner kick routine, with the resulting cross planted on the head of Parolo who steered his effort past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Despite Lazio’s early goal the Rossoneri hit back just five minutes later.

It was their top scorer Bacca, a man who had been without a goal in his past five matches, that turned home following good hold-up play from Luiz Adriano.

The high intensity of the opening 15 minutes soon diminished, but Milan catalyst Giacomo Bonaventura spanked a free kick against Federico Marchetti’s crossbar and bounced harmlessly away.

It took just 30 seconds of the second half for Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men to get going and it was their Colombian top scorer in the shape of Bacca to cause the damage.

The 29-year-old stole around the back of the defence before directing a hard-hitting shot that stung the palms of Marchetti.

Their momentum continued via the Italian Bonaventura, who forced a corner that ended up being scrambled away to safety.

Both Felipe Anderson and Bonaventura had chances to win the match but their chances flashed wide and struck the post respectively whilst Lulic was dismissed in the final ten minutes.

The draw kept Milan within touching distance of rivals Inter in the race for a Europa League place.
