AC Milan strikers Mario Balotelli and Carlos Bacca are incompatible on the pitch, according to club president Silvio Berlusconi.

The Rossoneri have experimented with a number of forwards this campaign as they search for a striker to complement top scorer Bacca, but Berlusconi has now called an end to Balotelli’s partnership with the Colombian as the pair failed to click.

“Balotelli and Jeremy Menez are a well matched duo, as are Bacca and Menez, but I think it’s more difficult to get Balotelli and Bacca to play together,” the politician said.

“They are like for like with their characteristics.”

However, with Menez returning to action after injury to score a brace, Berlusconi says that Milan are likely to continue rotating their frontline.

“Against Alessandria we saw Kevin-Prince Boateng play well, who along with Balotelli and Menez is a talent we can use in the final stages of Serie A,” he continued.

“It shows that we as a club have many options.”
