Atalanta coach rues errors in Juventus defeat

Juventus AllegriAtalanta coach Edoardo Reja believes his side had a chance of drawing level after their 2-0 defeat to Juventus.

Andrea Barzagli and Mario Lemina scored to ensure the Bianconeri remain three points ahead of title rivals Napoli.

“We have to make less mistakes as against Juventus it’s always difficult but we have improved,” Reja told Sky Sports Italia.

Marten de Roon, who had kept Barzagli onside when the defender scored, came the closest to netting the the hosts.

“We paid for the error on the first goal, unfortunately when you make mistakes against Juventus they punish you,” Reja added.

“We were never truly out of the game until Lemina scored, and even then it was a lucky goal due to deflections.”

The Bergamo side have yet to win a game so far this year, their last win coming in December against Palermo.

“It was hard to break down the Juventus defence, we really need to starting winning again,” Reja concluded.

Atalanta drop to 15th place with the relegation zone getting closer and closer after Frosinone beat Udinese.
