Andrea BertolacciAC Milan midfielder Andrea Bertolacci said his team must learn from their mistakes after a 2-0 loss to Sassuolo in Serie A.

Goals from Alfred Duncan and Nicola Sansone handed the Neroverdi a priceless win and halted the Rossoneri’s superb run of results.

“You have to learn a lot from your mistakes,” Bertolacci told Milan Channel. “But we have to figure out what we did not wrong.

“Today was an important game and we knew what to do: win and keep fighting for third place.

“Unfortunately we took a step back but must now fight for the rest of the season.”

Duncan netted on the 27th minute to hand Sassuolo the lead, a time where Bertolacci believes Milan should have already notched the first goal.

“We had to take the lead in the first 25 minutes,” Bertolacci added. “And be more clinical in front of goal.

“But then we conceded a goal from a corner. From then on, you’re fighting an uphill battle.

“The second goal came from a foul, and that ended the match “Sassuolo did play well, but we needed a different outcome.”
