Inter loanee Saphir Taider has his eyes set on Europe ahead of Bologna’s round 29 fixture against his parent club.

Since leaving the Rossoblu to sign with the Nerazzurri in 2013, the Algerian has endured stints with Southampton and Sassuolo before returning last August with his sights firmly set on the future.

“I returned here to stay and play in Europe with Bologna,” he told Il Resto del Carlino.

“It will be a great match but the past does not count for me and if I score, I will celebrate.

“We will try to win. We know that Inter will give us chances and we need to exploit them.”

The 24-year-old played a full season at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza before being sent out on loan, however Taider held no hard feelings about his time with the Milan giants.

“It was not a negative experience,” he continued. “I played 25 games in my first year then after the World Cup, I wanted to ensure I played in the 2015 African Nations Cup.

“Ronald Koeman wanted me at Southampton and promised me a position however after three games I had not played and left.

“After Sassuolo, I came to Inter and spoke with Roberto Mancini before returning here.”

Currently on a two-year loan with an obligation to buy, Taider has since made 23 appearances for Bologna who sit ninth in Serie A ahead of Saturday’s fixture.
