Antonio-ConteItaly coach Antonio Conte has announced his intention to step down from the Azzurri following the European Championship in France this summer.

A move to Chelsea looks likely for Conte, as the Stamford Bridge side seek a permanent replacement for interim manager Guus Hiddink.

Corriere dello Sport reported today that Conte told FIGC of his decision to leave following the summer’s tournament in France.

The Italian federation is set to discuss the Azzurri’s managerial situation soon, but with Conte’s decision, speculation now turns towards Bologna coach Roberto Donadoni, despite his insistence that he is happy where he is.

Chelsea have suffered their worst season in 13 years, sitting in 10th place in the Premier League, and are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League next year.
