paolo di canio swindonWest Ham and Lazio legend Paolo Di Canio has taken to warning compatriot Antonio Conte about the English press.

The current Azzurri boss is reportedly set to assume the manager’s position at Chelsea in the next season.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Di Canio has warned Conte about the tricks of the trade in the English Premier League.

“He will need to learn the language fast,” said the former Lazio striker.

“He will also need to do the opposite of what I was doing,” he added “avoiding to gesture too much. Otherwise, they will say he is too Italian!

“I’m actually joking. But it will be important for him to get into the British press’ mentality straight away. Sometimes a thing you say might be misinterpreted just because of the cultural difference.”

Di Canio has also been a manager in England, coaching Swindon Town and Sunderland in the past.
