Round 29 of the Serie A season was another heady mix of fantastic finishes, courageous comebacks and exciting entertainment.
The Juventus machine won again, as Paulo Dybala curled in the winner against Sassuolo keeping the Bianconeri top of the table whilst Napoli remain three points behind in second, a Gonzalo Higuain penalty enough to defeat Palermo.
At the bottom, Carpi re-ignited their survival hopes with a 2-1 victory over fellow strugglers Frosinone, though trouble could be brewing for Atalanta, who lost to Lazio and have not won in 14 games.
Antonio Conte must be kicking himself for not turning Paulo Dybala blue
The Argentine scored a magnificent goal against Sassuolo and is undoubtedly one of the most talented strikers in world football right now.
His move from Palermo to Juventus this summer, to replace what many felt was an irreplaceable Carlos Tevez, has been nothing but a wonderful triumph and the 22-year-old is a major part of the Bianconeri’s successful season so far.
However, one person who must be insanely jealous of that success right now is Italy boss Antonio Conte, who was unable to convince Dybala to play for Italy. The young forward, who possesses an Italian passport, declined the opportunity to wear the blue jersey, saying ‘he just doesn’t feel Italian’, back in 2015.
Given that the Azzurri are somewhat lacking up front, with the hit-an-miss form of players such as Graziano Pelle, Simone Zaza and Ciro Immobile, to have had a talent such as Dybala in the squad would surely have made the Italians one of the red hot favourites for Euro 2016.
