March 24 2016 will forever go down as one of the darkest days in football history, as the sport loses one of its most-loved sons and innovators, Johan Cruyff, who passed away from cancer aged 68.
Announced by his official website, the Dutch star died peacefully in his Barcelona home after a battle with lung cancer, one which he described as “2-0 up at half time, on match I am sure I will end up winning,” in February.
We at Forza Italian Football would like to join with all who offer their sincerest condolences to the legend’s friends and family at this time.
Below are just some of the tributes pouring in for the three-time Ballon d’Or winner.
We'll always love you, Johan. Rest in peace

Sad to hear that Johan Cruyff has died. Football has lost a man who did more to make the beautiful game beautiful than anyone in history.

Like George Best, the only peer he ever had, if you want to know what Johan Cruyff's legacy is, next time you're at a game, look around you.
