Former AC Milan forward Roberto Antonelli has paid homage to Johan Cruyff, who sadly passed away early on Thursday morning.

Antonelli, whose son, Luca, currently plies his trade in Rossoneri colours, had the honour of playing alongside the legendary Dutchman when Ajax granted permission for Cruyff to don the AC Milan jersey in a pre-season friendly.

“He was an extraordinary player and an incredibly charismatic person,” he told Tutto Mercato Web.

“With us he only played one game, in Mundial in 1981, but he was breathtaking.

“Let’s talk about one of the greatest in football history.”

Cruyff touched the hearts of millions with his dazzling trickery and eye for the game.

“I was often compared to him when I played in Monza,” he added.

“It was a great honour.”
