Former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has voiced his disappointed at the performances of Mario Balotelli and Carlos Bacca during the Rossoneri’s 2-0 defeat at Sassuolo in Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

The 38-year-old believes the attacking duo did not do enough for Sinisa Mihjalovic’s outfit in the absence of M’Baye Niang and is hoping for an improvement in the coming weeks.

“I didn’t like how they played,” Ambrosini told Sky Sport Italia.

“They’ve moved far too little, and haven’t create any chances for themselves or the team. Maybe the team didn’t back them properly, but I was expecting more from them in terms of both understanding the game and individual performance.”

While Bacca has already netted 13 goals during the current campaign, Balotelli has scored just one goal in Serie A during the Diavolo’s 3-2 win at Udinese last September.
