Juventus beat Sassuolo 1-0 at the Juventus stadium on Friday night.

The Bianconeri opened the scoring through the Argentine maestro Paulo Dybala in the 36th minute.  In the second-half the Neroverdi improved immensely as they thwarted many Juventus attacks. However, despite their attacking effort they couldn’t find a equaliser.

The first chance of the night fell to Juventus within the first minute of the match.

Juan Cuadrado played a pass into the feet of Mario Mandzukic who flicked ball back to Dybala, who’s audacious volley was superbly tipped over by Andrea Consigli.

The Old Lady were dominating the match and should have opened the scoring when Dybala’s floated free-kick was headed straight at Consigli by Alex Sandro at the back-post.

Sassuolo soon replied. A floated long-ball was fired back to Alfred Duncan on the edge of the penalty area by Nicola Sansone, but the Ghanaian could only drive his effort wide.

However, the Bianconeri’s dominance eventually paid dividends. Cuadrado’s drove down the right-wing before pulling the ball back to Dybala, who’s stunning curled shot flew past Consigli.

After the interval the game turned into a tight affair and chances came at a premium. Juventus came closest to scoring when Dybala got the the byline and pulled the ball back to Cuadrado but his effort was brilliantly blocked.

Sassuolo’s first chance of the half came in the 75th minute. Sansone cut inside from the left-wing and produced a stinging and dipping shot, which forced Gianluigi Buffon into a decent save.

As the game became stretched the Neroverdi looked increasingly dangerous. Once again Sansone drove at the heart of the Juventus defence and smacked a fierce shot goalwards, but yet again Buffon saved the Bianconeri.

The result leaves Juventus in first place whereas Sassuolo stay seventh in the table.
