Inter coach Roberto Mancini was proud of his side after they beat Juventus 3-0 in the Coppa Italia semi-final before losing 5-3 in the penalty shootout.
The Nerazzurri boss now hopes the result can push his side in the league despite it technically being a defeat.
“I’m very proud, the boys were fantastic and I must compliment them, above all, I am disappointed because they deserved to go to the final,” said Mancini to reporters.
“We are all proud of the performance but we have to accept how the result turned out. I didn’t even watch the penalties.”
The Inter coach was also asked for a response to his critics as the Nerazzurri have slipped to five points off third spot.
“I’m not influenced by anybody,” Mancini added.
“We dropped points so it’s obvious that there will be critics.
“Now we know that we have some quality, we’ll see if we can carry on being as good as we were tonight.”
