Mihajlovic MilanAC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has claimed that it was another missed opportunity after his team were held to a 1-1 draw with Lazio in Serie A.

Carlos Bacca ended a five-game personal goal drought to cancel out Marco Parolo’s opener, although the end result now leaves the Rossoneri six points behind rivals Inter in fifth.

“The first half was balanced,” Mihajlovic told Premium Sport. “In the second we dominated although we couldn’t get the goals.

“It is yet another missed opportunity, considering we could have recovered points on both Inter and Fiorentina. We were not brilliant from a technical standpoint.”

The Rossoneri have now gone three domestic games without a win, denting their hopes of obtaining European qualification and the Serbian tactician has admitted they are lacking strength within their squad.

“We cannot change a match during a game as we do not have solutions from the bench” he added. “We have had lots of injured players and we try to do our best with what we have.

“Let’s see what happens after the international break.”

One positive from the match was the link-up play between Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano, something which Mihajlovic has surprisingly tried to rekindle after criticising the selfishness of Mario Balotelli and Jeremy Menez.

“Luiz Adriano played a good game,” he concluded. “However, he is not in the best condition.

“Bacca now has his goals back, and very few others have that trait. In regards to players like Balotelli [Mario] and Menez [Jeremy], they do not have the same characteristics of Luiz Adriano and Niang [M’Baye].

“They are willing to sacrifice themselves for the team.”
