Sinisa MihajlovicAC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has praised the performance of his players after they beat Alessandria 5-0 to reach the Coppa Italia final.

In what was an open and free-flowing game, the Rossoneri emphatically ended the dream of a final appearance for the Lega Pro side, and the Serbian tactician has specifically praised the performance of his forwards who he believes will play an important role during the latter stages of the season.

“It’s mission accomplished for us,” said Mihajlovic to Rai Sport. “We are really happy to win by such a large scoreline, we haven’t been to the final for 13 years so we’re going to go all out to win.

“I was impressed with [Jeremy] Menez and [Mario] Balotelli. They played well even though they are still not at peak fitness. They will be important towards the end of the season.”

Mihajlovic also revealed that he would like to play Juventus in the final of the Coppa Italia, whilst also distancing himself from the issue regarding whether Gianluigi Donnarumma should be called up for the Italy.

“If I had to choose a team it would be Juventus,” he added. “Regarding Donnarumma it’s not my decision, it’s [Antonio] Conte’s.

“If he doesn’t get a call-up he still has plenty of time to play for the national side. ”
