higuainWith Jose Mourinho widely-tipped to be replacing Louis Van Gaal in the Manchester United dugout this summer, the Portuguese tactician has reportedly begun talks with Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain’s agent.

Joining Napoli in 2013, Higuain has gone from strength to strength this season, notching 27 Serie A goals and a further brace in the Partneopei’s unsuccessful Europa League campaign.

The striker’s brother and agent, Nicolas Higuain, has been in contact with Mourinho with a potential agreement already in the offing, according to Daily Star, regarding a €10 million per season contract.

Consistently, performing across Europe’s top divisions, the striker has yet to grace the Premier League having started his career with River Plate before joining Real Madrid.

In the meantime, Higuain will have to focus on Napoli’s Scudetto fight with Juventus, which takes the Azzurri to hosting Genoa on Sunday.
