Icardi chievoWith Antonio Conte set to take charge of Premier League Chelsea, Inter captain Mauro Icardi could become the Italian’s first signing in the Premier League.

Joining Inter in 2013, Icardi was joint-top scorer in Serie A last season and currently sits on 12 goals from 25 appearances in the 2015/16 campaign as the Nerazzurri fight to return to European football.

As reported by Daily Mirror, Italy boss Conte is targeting Icardi for a summer transfer, with current Chelsea forward Diego Costa considering a departure from West London, possibly back to Atletico Madrid.

Starting his career in his native Argentina, the Rosario-born forward first came to Europe with Barcelona before being sent out on loan to Sampdoria. His successes with the Blucerchiati Primavera side saw him move to Liguria permanently, signing for the Biscione after one season in the Samp senior team.
