Alex SandroJuventus’ Alex Sandro is looking forward to taking on Torino on Sunday afternoon, as he is likely to be given a start in the Derby della Mole after featuring in the closing minutes of the last Serie A encounter between the two sides.

Despite coming on as a substitute after 87 minutes when the two Turin outfits met in late October, the full-back proved decisive when, deep into stoppage time, he fed Juan Cuadrado whose strike sealed a 2-1 victory for the Bianconeri, kicking off their 15-game winning streak.

“I expect a very tough game, just like all Serie A matches,” Sandro told Juventus TV.

“It will be a very special game for both the supporters and the players, and we want to win.

“I was very happy for my assist to Cuadrado during the last Derby, but we all have to make the difference on Sunday.”

In spite of coach Massimiliano Allegri’s initial choice to keep relying mainly on Patrice Evra when Alex Sandro first joined Juventus from Porto for €26 million, the Brazilian acknowledges that his boss played a key role in his growth.

“He [Allegri] demands the best from everyone and makes all us improve,” Sandro went on.

“When you put on the Juventus shirt you’re wearing a symbol known all over the world, it’s a privilege for me.

“I’m learning a lot here, this season is crucial to my growth.”
