Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa believes his team were unlucky not to secure all three points during Monday evening’s 1-1 draw against Napoli in Serie A at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The 45-year-old saw the ball cannon off the visitors upright on two occasions after Gonzalo Higuain had cancelled out Marcos Alonso’s early header.
“We lacked that bit of luck which could have allowed us to win the game,” Sousa told Premium Sport following the match.
“We never let up, even if in the second half when we did concede a bit more space to Napoli.
“In the end we were still well organised and managed to find space in between their lines. I don’t think we suffered from our Europa League disappointment last week as we continued to dominate up until the end.”
