Luca_ToniSeasoned Serie A veteran Luca Toni has warned his former side Bayern Munich against their upcoming Champions League opponents Juventus, as they go head to head in the round of 16 second leg on Wednesday evening.

The current Hellas Verona man enjoyed a fruitful stay with the Bavarians between 2007-2010 before moving on to a short stint with the Bianconeri, and has now given his say on the big fixture between his previous employers.

“Bayern should underestimate Juve at their own peril,” Toni warned, speaking to Tuttosport.

“They [Juventus] have what it takes to win and go through.

“They will need to attack without any fear, and use the intensity of the game to their advantage. It’s like an early final.”

Toni then picked out the players who he thinks will decide the tie, before giving a nod to his former team-mates.

“[Franck] Ribery and Alvaro Morata will be decisive,” he exclaimed.

“Franck is one of the most talented and strongest players who I have ever had the chance to play with, alongside Andrea Pirlo.”

However, the 38-year-old refused to pick sides, humorously brushing past the question.

“I’ll only be cheering for the beautiful game,” he joked.
