Juventus - TorinoJuventus beat Torino 4-1 in Serie A at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin on Sunday afternoon to win the Derby della Mole.

In a rather dull but competitive first-half, it was The Old Lady who took the lead through Paul Pogba’s superb free-kick in the 33rd minute. Sami Khedira added to Il Toro’s woes in the 42nd minute to give the visitors a two goal cushion at the break.

Yet, in the 48th minute Andrea Belotti calmly tucked away a controversial penalty to give Torino hope. However, in the 63rd minute Alvaro Morata restored the Bianconeri’s two goal lead before claiming his second of the game in the 76th minute to seal the victory.

After an absolutely ferocious start to match, it was Juventus who took the lead with their first shot on target as Pogba whipped a stunning 35-yard free-kick beyond the scrambling Daniele Padelli. The Bianconeri dominated Torino in the first-half and deservedly doubled their lead just before half-time.

Mario Mandzukic laid the ball off to Khedira who was allowed to charge all the way into the penalty box by some frankly awful Il Toro defending, and Khedira gratefully slotted his shot past Padelli.

After the interval, Torino were given a lifeline when Alex Sandro supposedly fouled Bruno Peres in the penalty area, and the referee awarded a penalty. Replays showed the referee’s decision was a poor one.

However, Belotti did not mind and he stepped up confidently to fire past Gianluigi Buffon and become the first player to score a league goal past the Italy international in 973 minutes of play.

The Granata were much improved in the second-half, but it was Juventus who regained their two goal buffer. Pogba’s brilliant chipped pass found Morata’s clever run and the Spaniard exquisitely flicked the ball over Padelli and into the net.

Morata also scored the Bianconeri’s fourth goal after Pogba’s low free-kick ricocheted back to him and he fired a bobbly shot goalwards, which Morata calmly stabbed it into the net.

In the 86th minute Khedira was sent-off for dissent after disagreeing with a refereeing decision.

The result leaves Torino in 13th place, whereas Juventus remain top of the table.
