Udinese have confirmed the news that Stefano Colantuono has been relieved of his coaching duties.

The Zebrette have endured a challenging season including a recent run of form consisting of just one win in their last 11 fixtures, which was enough to end the 53-year-old’s nine-month reign.

“Udinese Calcio announces it has removed coach Stefano Colantuono and his staff from the management of the Bianconeri,” read an official club statement.

Udinese Calcio would like to thank the coach and his staff for their commitment and professionalism shown over the months and wish them the best of luck in their professional careers.”

Colantuono departs with the club sitting 15th in Serie A, just four points above the relegation zone.

While no replacement has been announced, reports have suggested Luigi De Canio is the favourite to take over in Udine.
