Gianluigi Buffon JuventusSerie A legend Dino Zoff has recognised that Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon accomplished something extraordinary by setting a new record of clean sheets.

The Bianconeri captain has been keeping his goal untouched for the last 10 consecutive league games, claiming the second position in the standings from Zoff himself.

“This record is Buffon’s, but also one for the whole of Juventus’ defence,” said Zoff to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“As a goalkeeper, you know that every five shots, you can block four, and the fifth can still go in.

“[Buffon] did not content himself with his natural abilities, he worked hard on himself and his personality.

“We both have the same presence in goal, he’s a leader like I was but I used to be quieter.”

Zoff also spoke about possible heirs for Buffon as Italian national team goalkeepers.

“[Mattia] Perin and [Marco] Sportiello are doing really good,” added the Azzurri legend

“[Gianluigi] Donnarumma also has a shot if he continues to be a starter for AC Milan”.
