Albania’s national team coach Gianni De Biasi has emerged as a frontrunner to replace Antonio Conte who is set to leave the Italy job after Euro 2016.

The 59-year-old has made a name for himself after steering the Balkan team to qualification for Euro 2016, which will be their first major tournament.

As reported by Sportmediaset, the former Inter player is FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio’s first choice to succeed Conte compared to other illustrious candidates which include Fabio Capello, Claudio Ranieri, and previous Italy boss Roberto Donadoni.

De Biasi’s career has been marked by managing smaller clubs in Serie A where he had spells with the likes of Torino, Levante and Udinese before creating history with the Albanian national team, in which he was bestowed the Honor of Nation Order, the highest decoration to be given in Albania.
