Denis - AC Milan v AtalantaAtalanta host AC Milan as they return to regular Serie A action Sunday afternoon at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.

The Rossoneri look to resume their quest to qualify for European football while the hosts will be happy to build on the momentum of a 2-0 victory over Bologna, which currently stands as their only win since December.

Sitting 14th in the table, Edoardo Reja’s side have lost out to Lazio, Juventus, and Fiorentina whilst drawing level with Carpi in a 1-1 stalemate prior to the international break.

Meanwhile, Milan’s season appears to have plateaued, as they have now failed to register a victory since February 27 in what was a 1-0 win over Torino. Since then, Sinisa Mihajovic’s men have suffered a stale ride, additionally dropping points in a 2-0 loss away to Sassuolo.

The two sides played out a 0-0 draw during the reverse fixture in Milan, however, historically the Rossoneri have been the better of the two teams, winning 19, drawing 8 and losing just 6 times.

Edy Reja will continue to be without midfielder Carlos Carmona for this match, as he recovers from a hip operation after sustaining an injury back in November against Torino.

Brazilian defender Alex, M’Baye Niang and Juraj Kucka will all be sidelined for the visitors, with the later two both expected to return in April.

Milan starlet Gianluigi Donnarumma will start between the posts fresh off two Italian U-21 victories.
