maranChievo coach Rolando Maran was pleased with his side’s determination after their 1-0 victory against Carpi.

The Gialloblu’s main goal this season was to avoid relegation and the Flying Donkeys have passed with flying colours, currently sitting in eighth place and Maran was complimentary of the continuing efforts displayed by his players after another positive result.

“We competed well today, despite the fact that our objective has already been achieved,” Maran told Sky Sport Italia.

“It wasn’t easy but I am happy that we were able to emerge victorious today.”

Sergio Pellissier came off the bench to score the winner and Maran was full of praise for the club’s long-time servant.

“Our captain scored a fine goal and I am glad that he was the one to do it because he has given so much for this club, on and off the pitch,” the 52-year-old said.

“He is a positive example for all of our players.”
