Suso - GenoaGenoa beat Frosinone by an impressive 4-0 scoreline on Sunday afternoon at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Serie A.

Suso opened the scoring late in the first half before adding two more in the second for his hat-trick, while Luca Rigoni also found the net.

There was little quality on show at the beginning and the hosts were disrupted by Goran Pandev’s injury in the 19th minute.

The Gialloazzurri did well in the 34th minute after Daniel Ciofani held up a long ball over the top before sliding in Federico Dionisi but he dragged his shot wide.

The Rossoblu took the lead in the 42nd minute as Frosinone stood off Suso who was able to march up the right side before cutting onto his left and firing into the far post with a brilliant strike from outside the area.

Genoa had a great chance in the 48th minute as Rigoni got his head to a cross from the left but Nicola Leali made an excellent save.

The Rossoblu had another chance as a break saw Tim Matavz close down on goal but his low strike to the far corner was stopped by the busy Leali.

Frosinone could have levelled in the 56th minute after some very sloppy play at the back gifted Daniel Ciofani with possession the box but his low shot was too central to beat Mattia Perin.

Suso did it again in the 59th minute after the visitors lost the ball in the middle of the park before some sharp passing left the Spaniard with possession and he cut onto his left again to curl into the top corner.

Rigoni wrapped things up in the 72nd minute after the ball fell fortunately at his feet and he had a simple finish from close range.

Suso earned his hat-trick in the 76th minute after showing some excellent close control under pressure in the area before finishing from a narrow angle and he was then taken off to a standing applause with time running out.

The result sees Genoa go 10th on 37 points while Frosinone are 19th, one point behind Carpi and safety.
