The Argentine forward was sent off in Napoli’s 3-1 defeat at the Stadio Friuli, a defeat that leaves the Partenopei six points behind leaders Juventus, and the suspension means he will miss crucial games against Inter and Roma.

Higuain allegedly said “In Italy it’s impossible to win” repeatedly after the match, according to the Corriere del Mezzogiorno, with the striker angry at refereeing decisions but also about Juve’s charge to the top of the table.

Il Pipita has been linked with numerous clubs abroad, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich expected to lead the chase for the player who has scored 30 league goals this season and leads the Serie A goalscoring charts.
