Inter boss Roberto Mancini has claimed that while Mauro Icardi has developed into a quality player, the attacker still has a lot more room for improvement.

The Argentina international has been in impressive form for the Nerazzurri this season and is currently the second highest goalscorer in the Serie A with 15 goals and also has three assists to his name.

Speaking ahead of the side’s midweek away clash against Genoa, Mancini has challenged Icardi to continue enhancing his skills but believes the 23-year-old striker quality in front of goals makes him unstoppable in all situations.

““I played with [Pietro] Vierchowod and even at 33, 34, 35, he continued to improve every day,” he said at a press conference.

“Mauro is a 23-year-old player and he really can improve every day if he puts in maximum effort.

“Still, he continues to improve every day like the other boys but he can still improve a lot like the others.

“He’s at the right place at the right time and will continue to score goals even if he does not play well. This is his best quality.”

Inter will take on Genoa on April 20 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
