Chievo coach Rolando Maran claims his side are now safe from relegation and hopes to finish the season well following a 3-1 victory at home to Palermo.
The Mussi Volanti currently sit in ninth place following their most recent victory, which saw them extend their unbeaten streak to three games, having last lost at the start of March.
“We have reached safety [from the relegation zone] and now we want to close the season well,” Maran told Rai Sport after the game.
“We are in a good position in the table after a quality season, which has taken a great deal of sacrifice.”
Midfielder Valter Birsa capped off the scoring on Sunday afternoon with a well taken set piece, and Maran had a few select words for his side’s current top scorer.
“He has found continuity in his ideal position,” he concluded.
“Even when the ball isn’t at his feet he is doing very well, and he’s scoring goals frequently.”
