Marotta: Pogba is not for sale

Juventus general manager Guiseppe Marotta insists that star Paul Pogba will not be allowed to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window, and is convinced that the midfielder will remain at the club for a while to come.

The French international’s rapid rise to stardom at the Old Lady has attracted interest from a host of Europe’s elite with La Liga side Barcelona reportedly in the front seat for the player’s signature while Premier League outfit are also the 23-year-old’s situation closely.

Speaking to Rai Radio 1, Marotta has admitted to have previously knocked back offer for Pogba and has confirmed that the club do not intend on selling the central midfielder.

“We consider Pogba to be an an important part of the team in particular for the coming years,” he said.

“We have already made a choice about his future, and with Pogba doing well with the last, we decided to knock back the offer when we received tenders for the player last year.

“He will continue to develop to become a champion. This it is his home and although in football you can never take anything for granted, the club does not intend to sell him and he does not want to leave.”

Pogba has made 31 Serie A appearances this season, scoring eight goals and racking up nine assists in the process.
