Frosinone.

The visitors opened through Alberto Gilardino and despite being dominated Aleksandar Trajovski added a second in extra time.

“I’m thankful for the games I have been in charge, the spirit shown by the players on these occasions,” Ballardini told Sky Sport Italia.

Palermo striker Alberto Gilardino netted his ninth of the Serie A campaign, and his second against Frosinone so far this season.

“The team has always been together and today the performance reflected this fact, it was a great display” Ballardini continued.

The victory is the first Palermo win in Serie A since 24th January against Udinese, just their third so far this year.

“The team has players of great quality, character and technical qualities,” the Palermo boss concluded.

Palermo go level with Carpi on 32 points, leapfrogging Frosinone in their bid to avoid relegation.
