walter novellinoPalermo’s coaching carousel is set to continue, as Walter Novellino has admitted to being relieved of his duties.

In his month spent at the helm, Novellino could only manage one draw and three defeats, prompting volatile president Maurizio Zamparini to take action yet again.

“I can confirm that I have been relieved of my duties as Palermo coach,” the 62-year-old told Calciomercato.

“I am sorry and deeply saddened by the news but I would like to thank the fans and club executives for the opportunity that I was given.”

Zamparini looks set to rehire former coach Davide Ballardini, who was sacked in January after a disappointing two-month spell on the sidelines.

This will mark the ninth coaching change of the season for the Rosanero, who currently sit 18th in the Serie A table with relegation now looming.
