El Shaarawy Roma NapoliIn a match that they had to win, Napoli lost 1-0 at Roma to hand Juventus the title.

Although the two teams have the best goalscoring records in Serie A this season, the game saw a lack of clear opportunities until the last minute when Radja Nainggolan fired home from just outside the box. Napoli are now unable to catch Juventus at the top of Serie A, with the Bianconeri claiming their fifth title in as many years.

The home side had the first chance of the game as a wayward header from Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj landed at the feet of Mohamed Salah but the winger could only fire his shot over the bar.

A swift Napoli moved ended with a delightful ball being played to Jose Callejon. The former Real Madrid man coolly slotted home but the goal was correctly ruled out as Callejon was offside.

It was Napoli who were starting to control the game and despite a great piece of control, Gonzalo Higuain failed to guide the ball home as Wojciech Szczesny did well to rush out and claim the ball.

In truth though the first half saw both teams cancel each other out, with the result being a rather cautious opening 45 minutes.

The second half started much in the same manner with neither side able to get ontop of the other and chances were again at a premium.

On the hour mark Napoli went close to opening the scoring. A brilliant run by Higuain saw the ball end up at the feet of Dries Mertens but the Belgium curled his shot just wide of the goal.

Higuain then went close again but like in the first half he was denied by a point black save by Szczesny. The introduction of Francesco Totti for Roma did paved the way for a late goal. He was involved in the build-up which lead to Radja Nainggolan coolly firing the ball from the edge of the area with just two minutes to go

The wins means Juventus have secured their fifth straight title while Roma close to within two points of Napoli in second.
