Salah Roma TorinoRoma completed a remarkable turnaround in a 3-2 win over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome for their Wednesday evening tie.

Andrea Belotti and Josef Martinez scored but Kostas Manolas and an incredible brace from Francesco Totti salvaged the three points.

The home side were nearly caught sleeping, Josef Martinez capitalising on the mistake from Kostas Manolos and almost beating Wojciech Szczesny, missing only narrowly. Mohamed Salah recovered an attempt from Stephan El Shaarawy and got a shot in at Padelli, but the goalkeeper parried away.

Torino then had a surge of their own, Martinez missing a great chance, sending his shot over the bar and then Andrea Belotti hit the post after making a run through the midfield. The 22 year-old striker may have felt unfortunate, but matters improved when Kostas Manolas dragged the forward down in the area to give away a penalty. Belotti fired into the bottom corner to bag his 11th Serie A goal of the season.

Roma were left furious at half time, believing Gaston Silva had handled the ball in the area and should have had a penalty kick. In the second half El Shaarawy had an early sight of finding an equaliser, but his header went over the bar.

Alessandro Gazzi stopped the shot from Radja Nainggolan with an arm, but referee Gianpaolo Calvarese didn’t award a spot-kick. Their protestations soon turned to joy as Manolas found the equaliser, heading home the corner. With ten minutes to go Josef Martinez swept in behind the defenders and put Torino in front.

Francesco Totti entered the field and made an instant impact, poking in the free kick to put Roma back in it. With moment left on the clock Nikola Maksimovic handled the ball and a penalty was awarded, Totti converting to complete a magical win.
