FBL-ITA-SERIEA-BOLOGNA-ROMARoma host Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday evening, hoping to take the three points to try and chase down Napoli with only four points separating the sides. Meanwhile, Bologna are currently sitting in 13th and will be looking to break into the top 10 with four sides stuck outside the top half of the table on 36 points.

Sitting third in the table, Luciano Spalletti’s side haven’t lost in their past seven games in Serie A and a convincing 4-1 win over Lazio in the derby put space between the Giallorossi in the final Champions League spot and Inter.

Meanwhile, Bologna’s season appears to have flatlined, as they have now failed to register a victory in their last seven and in their last outing they became the first team to lose to bottom side Hellas Verona at home.

The two sides played out a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture was hosted by Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara last November. The fiery encounter saw nine yellow cards and three penalties. Adam Masina and Mattia Destro scored for Bologna while Miralam Pjanic and Edin Dzeko netted for Roma.

The Giallorossi will continue to be without midfielder Radja Nainggolan for this match, as he is suspended for the accumulation of yellow cards.

Bologna will be without the winger Emanuele Giaccherini who is also facing a suspension for picking up too many yellow cards. Roberto Donadoni’s men will be expected to start the same line up as last week’s 1-0 loss to Verona.

Expected Starting XIs:

Roma (4-3-3): Szczesny; Florenzi, Manolas, Rudiger, Digne; Pjanic, Keita, Nainggolan; Salah, Perotti, El Shaaraway.

Bologna (4-3-3): Mirante; Ferrari, Rossettini, Maietta, Masina; Zapata, Diawara, Turan; Mounier, Floccari, Giaccherini
