US Sassuolo Calcio v Hellas Verona FC - Serie ASassuolo welcome Hellas Verona to the Mapei Stadium on Sunday afternoon looking to capitalise on AC Milan‘s dip in results.

The Neroverdi lie in 7th place, a point adrift of the Rossoneri in sixth with Cristian Brocchi’s outfit winless in five of their last six games.

Sassuolo have faltered slightly themselves, though will take solace from last weekend’s impressive 3-1 away triumph over Torino.

Nicola Sansone grabbed the opener at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino that day and will be key to the Neroverdi’s push for European football next season.

Hellas Verona, meanwhile, had their relegation to Serie B confirmed on Monday evening with Carpi’s success over Empoli.

Still, Luigi Delneri’s side rallied to do Sunday’s opponents a favour with a 2-1 victory over AC Milan at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

The Gialloblu have registered only four victories all season and they seemed to be delaying inevitable when fulcrum Emil Halfredsson was auctioned off to Udinese in January and promising youngster Jacopo Sala was granted permission to join relegation battlers Sampdoria.

Luca Siligardi has returned to form and netted in their win over the Rossoneri.

The Neroverdi have endured a mixed record against the Gialloblu and were held in the reverse fixture back in December.

Sergio Floccari, now of Bologna, netted the opener before Luca Toni levelled shortly before the interval.

Eusebio Di Francesco will be without Federico Peluso after his goalscoring exploits last weekend and is still without the influential duo of Simone Missiroli and Gregoire Defrel. Davide Biondini also remains sidelined.

The away side will be shorn of talisman Luca Toni while Mohamed Fares will also miss out.
