Forward Miroslav Klose will bring his Lazio career to an end this weekend.

The Biancocelesti will host Fiorentina on Sunday evening and the club has all but confirmed the departure of the German icon.

“Come to the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday to salute Miro,” reads the club’s official Twitter handle, while simultaneously commencing a #KloseDay hashtag campaign.

The all-time World Cup leading goalscorer is expected to return to the German Bundesliga before finally hanging up his boots and putting an end to what has become an illustrious career.

The 37-year-old has struggled through injury this campaign, amassing six goals and seven assists in 23 Serie A appearances, with all six tallies coming since March.

Since joining the Aquile in 2011, the former Bayern Munich star has scored 57 goals and added 21 assists in 149 appearances across all competitions.
