BenatiaPremier League side Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign Juventus and Roma target, Mehdi Benatia.

The defender could potentially leave Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign, and the Gunners are now prepared to lock horns with some of Serie A’s elite in a bid to acquire his in-demand services.

According to The Daily Star, the Morocco international is on Arsene Wenger’s transfer list, after Bayern recently demonstrated their ambition to sign Borussia Dortmund defender, Mats Hummels.

Benatia has struggled to secure a first-team spot at the Allianz Arena this season and could be willing to leave Germany to ensure more playing time.

The defender was previously a target for Juventus during his time in Italy and they have recently rekindled their interest in the player, whilst the Giallorossi are also keen in re-signing Benatia, as coach Luciano Spalletti aims to bolster his defensive line-up.

The former Udinese man has only managed to accumulate 12 Bundesliga appearances throughout the season.
