Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly rejected a bid from Atletico Madrid for Lorenzo Insigne.
The Champions League finalists have also been linked with Sassuolo’s Sime Vrsaljko, who is himself also a target of the Partenopei.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atletico Madrid offered Napoli €30 million for the attacking midfielder which was turned down, prompting the Spaniards to look at Nico Gaitan of Benfica instead.
A move for Insigne now appears unlikely but the deal is not completely over.
The 24-year-old made 34 starts and scored 12 goals for Napoli during the 2015-16 Serie A season.
Reports also claim that representatives of Los Colchoneros also took the opportunity of meeting with Vrsaljko’s entourage while in Milan for the Champions League final.
Napoli were previously linked with a €15m bid for the Croatian with Duvan Zapata offered to the Neroverdi.
