mascherano morataSpanish giants Barcelona have no intention of selling key defender Javier Mascherano to Juventus this summer.

Reports emerged this morning that the Bianconeri had a three-year deal in place with the Argentine international but the Blaugrana believe that their talisman is too important to the team to warrant a sale.

“Mascherano is not for sale, he is unmovable,” a club official stated, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

Luis Enrique is ever-dependent on the 31-year-old, who also enjoys a strong rapport with teammate Lionel Messi.

Given Juve’s inseparable BBC tandem in defence that consists of Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini, it is possible that coach Massimiliano Allegri would desire to move Mascherano back into a defensive midfield role.

The former Liverpool player made a whopping 47 appearances across all competition for Barca this season but is yet to find the scoresheet over his six-year career with the club.
