Having departed Roma for Bayern Munich in 2014, Medhi Benatia has demonstrated his enduring affection for his former Italian side and stressed that he will return to the the club at some point in the future.
The talented defender had admitted that he has extremely fond memories of his time with the Giallorossi, and that the Roman side will always remain in his heart.
“I am certain that I will return to Roma,” said Benatia to Fox Sports. “Everyone knows that it is a special place for me.
“I experienced some extraordinary moments with the club and there are lots of people who still remain in my heart.
“If I am to leave Bayern Munich, then Roma would be a possibility.”
During his time with the Roman outfit, the former Udinese man made 27 Serie A appearances for the Lupi, scoring two league goals in the process.
