Inter president Erick Thohir has placed his trust in coach Roberto Mancini but expects more from his players next season.

The Nerazzurri have crawled to a disappointing fourth place finish after a dreadful second half to the season, but Thohir appears to have put his faith in Mancini above the players.

“Inter must trust Mancini and encourage the players to give the maximum,” the business mogul announced at the Inter Club Gorontalo Indonesia end-of-the-season meeting.

“Everyone who puts on the Inter sweater, must do so with a greater sense of pride.

“The objective for every player next season should be to improve, both as individuals and as a team.”

Mancini has criticized the attitude through the ranks on numerous occasions this season and with Thohir seemingly in agreement, wholesale changes are expected to be made for the second consecutive summer.
